Guidelines for Blog Entries

2015 Symposium participants gather in the Sheraton lobby to refresh and reflect.

Deadline: June 1, 2015 5pm (CST)

We are looking to post 10-12 conference experience entries per year. You may write about either conference. Consider how the conference helped you better understand a topic, how what you learned will make a difference in your setting, network with other professionals or made you aware of a new strategy or issue. Write about how this experience prompted you to go back to the individuals you work with and start or stop practices, programs or strategies. We encourage all different types of participants from first year attendees to long-time participants. Presenters, volunteers, parents, educators, and community providers are all welcome to submit.

Please follow these guidelines when submitting a blog entry:

1. Who are you? Provide a breif bio and a photo.

2. Blog entries can be from 500 - 100 words in length.

3. Please use People First Language. Put the person before the disability. Read more about PFL here: http://www.disabilityisnatural.com/explore/people-first-language

4. Submit your blog as a word document to mslbdfb@gmail.com. A blog review committee will read your work and if selected will be in touch with you for any final edits or clarification. Make sure your entry includes a title. Keep your work to a minimal use of jargon. Many people will read this and we want to ensure they are able to read and clearly understand.

5. Entries selected will be awarded at the annual Symposium each year.

If you have any questions, email mslbdfb@gmail.com.
